About Medi-o-cre Still Life's series
What started as a one off quick, loose, and messy still life of something on my equally messy desk, turned into a short series of medi-o-cre still life's done in a very loose style within 10 to 25 minutes. I chose to initially start this as a way to work without a pencil and just go straight pen to paper to build confidence in my lines.

Along the edges of the two panels a quote is written from the book A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara,

About the Japan Watercolor series
For the last decade, watercolors have been one of my least favorite (and least used) mediums. Since 2020 has provided me with more free time to do art than usual, I have thrown myself into the world of watercolors and have found a new joy in using this medium. This mini series is full of simple paintings using photos I took on my trip to Japan earlier this year for reference.
**These watercolors were done on Canson Mix Media Paper with Sakura Koi and Grumbacher Watercolors.
